Hand-dyed in the Kootenays by Lily Respair

This gorgeous Easy Wash Alpaca/Highland Wool/Nylon blend yarn is grown and spun in Peru, and then hand-dyed in the Kootenays, exclusively for Berkana Wool Shop. The decision to offer The Tree Series stems from the origin of the word Berkana, which is the Norse/Anglo Saxon rune, meaning, "birch".

The Kootenays abound with a wide variety of impressive tree species, and most of our communities are literally surrounded by the majesty of tree-covered mountains. We offer you this artistic sample of the trees of our rich ecosystem through this DK weight 6-ply blend, hand-dyed in small, thoughtful batches, by the inimitable Lily Respair. This soft and toasty warm yarn would be ideal for socks, mittens, shawls, and sweaters.

• Contents: 60% Easy Wash Highland Wool, 20% Easy Wash Alpaca, 20% Nylon
• Put up in 100 gram skeins, 265 metres in length (DK)
• Recommended needles: 3 to 4 mm
• Care: Machine Wash on delicate in cool water, lay flat to dry
